Eno Vino first opened its doors on Madison’s west side in 2004, born from a vision to bring a sophisticated wine bar and small plates scene to the city.
In June 2017, the brand expanded to the heart of downtown, launching Eno Vino Downtown atop the AC Hotel and instantly transforming a former parking lot into Madison’s premier rooftop dining destination.
This location was designed to capture the energy of Capitol Square and deliver sweeping skyline views—something Madison had never seen before. The floor-to-ceiling glass walls and outdoor terrace were chosen to frame the Capitol dome from every angle.
Today, Eno Vino Downtown is a magnet for celebrations, political power lunches, and date nights, offering more than 200 wines and a chef-driven menu that showcases local ingredients and global inspiration.
What sets this location apart is the blend of cosmopolitan style with authentic Madison hospitality—service is polished, the wine list is legendary, and the atmosphere is always buzzing with the city’s most interesting mix of locals and visitors.
Capitol Square is considered a safe area with consistently low crime rates. Standard downtown precautions apply, but incidents are rare, making it a comfortable spot for late-night dining or walking.
The neighborhood is highly walkable, with wide, well-lit sidewalks and easy pedestrian access to State Street and the Capitol. Expect heavier crowds on weekends and during events like the Dane County Farmers’ Market.
Rush hour (4–6pm weekdays) brings traffic and limited parking; weekends are busiest after 7pm. During major Capitol events or summer festivals, plan for detours and arrive early to secure parking or navigate crowds.
Tourism peaks June–August, with citywide events and college visitors boosting restaurant demand. Saturday mornings (April–November) see huge influxes for the Farmers’ Market—book ahead or visit off-peak for a more relaxed vibe.
